Challenges
A challenge is an opportunity for learners to solve a real problem by themselves, helping them gain a deeper understanding of how to apply a given tool or approach and confidence that they can do it on their own. Challenges help tune and strengthen the learner’s understanding of concepts. A challenge lets learners try solutions while the challenge engine watches for mistakes and then confirms their success.
As opposed to the steps in a lab, challenges present tasks to the learner to be completed. As the learner completes each task, the session provides real-time feedback to encourage the learner to keep making progress via verification scrips. Through an on-demand reveal action, the challenge provides hints to assist the learner when they get stuck.
To help make authoring challenges easier, one of our authors created the Solver utility, which you are encouraged to use if you would like. See the Solver utility page for more details.
